In line with her youth engagement strategy, Kiddies Vision Magazine, organisers of the annual Young Ministers’ Competition (YMC) in collaboration with HUAXING Arts Troupe Nigeria, sponsors of the event, have produced young ministers and commissioners of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the just concluded Young Ministers Competition Grand Finale, Season 5 which held at the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island.
The Young Ministers Competition was established to test Nigerian students on how well they know the country, as well as enlighten them on the functions, organs and government activities, facts and history of the country to guide them towards societal values and good governance.

Speaking on this engagement, the organizer of the program who is also the director, Kiddies Vision Magazine, Nnena Umeohia, noted that, “The competition came into being, when we realized that Nigerian students know practically nothing about their country, whereas they are quite familiar with foreign movies, cartoons, soccer, actors and so on. So, the purpose of this competition is to nurture them on excellent leadership, as well as set innovative ways of educating Nigerians through the media.”

The competition which is a 32-week television show focuses on five selected ministerial seats and commissioner seats respectively. The ministerial seats focus on selected federal portfolios and their policies which is a contest by secondary school students while the commissioner seats which focus on the same portfolio and policies at the state level is contested by primary school pupils, and students have to go through the four phases to emerge winners.
