“We urge our law abiding staff and students to remain calm and stay away from the campuses in the mean time”, the statement read
The operatives were said to have prevented some of the union leaders from gaining entry into the venue where the panel was sitting and in the process many of the staff were wounded, including the treasurer of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Comrade Hameed Owoh, who reportedly passed out and was rushed to the hospital.
The Secretary of the Joint Action Committee of the University Comrade Dada Kunmi in his reaction accused the University management of disregarding order by the National Industrial Court in Ibadan stopping them from constituting the Staff Disciplinary Committee.
